MAP Audio MFX is a modular multi-effects audio plugin designed for flexible sound processing and creative routing. It allows users to connect four effect cells in series, parallel, or feedback configurations, creating custom signal paths within a single insert.

Each cell includes access to 33 built-in effects, making it possible to build different processing chains or use the same effect with different settings across multiple cells. Adjustable cable levels provide direct control over signal flow, while modulation tools and automation features offer additional ways to shape evolving sounds.

Software Overview

MAP Audio MFX combines modular routing, a collection of built-in effects, and extensive modulation capabilities in one plugin. Its four-cell architecture lets producers design custom signal paths without needing to load separate effect plugins for every processing stage.

The routing system supports serial and parallel processing, as well as feedback loops. Each connection has an adjustable level, giving users control over how signals move between cells. Feedback connections include a fixed 64-sample delay, while the effects placed in the loop may introduce additional delay.

Key Features

Four modular effect cells that can be connected in series, parallel, or feedback configurations.
33 built-in effects available in every cell.
Adjustable signal levels directly on routing cables.
Feedback routing with a fixed 64-sample delay on the feedback connection.
Six global LFOs with free-running and host-synchronized modes.
Factory LFO shapes and the ability to draw custom shapes.
Audio followers for each cell, with support for following another cell or a routed stereo sidechain.
ParamSeq for moving mapped controls through step-based sequences.
Three Combo knobs for controlling mapped parameters across multiple cells.
Host automation support for effect controls, Combo knobs, and the global mix.

Modular Routing and Feedback

The four effect cells can be patched together to create different signal-processing structures. Serial routing sends audio through successive cells, while parallel routing allows different processing paths to be combined. Feedback connections can return a signal to the same cell or an earlier cell, with the cable level controlling the amount of returned audio.

Depending on the routing arrangement and feedback level, a loop can gradually fade, sustain, or produce self-oscillation. These behaviors provide additional options for sound design and experimental processing.

Modulation and Automation

MAP Audio MFX includes six global LFOs that can run freely or synchronize to the host tempo. Users can select built-in waveforms or draw their own shapes to create custom modulation patterns.

Each cell also has a follower that can respond to its own audio or another cell's signal. A stereo sidechain can be routed into a cell for external signal following. ParamSeq provides step-by-step movement for mapped controls, while the three Combo knobs allow parameters from different cells to be controlled together. Supported controls can also be automated by the host.

Why Choose MAP Audio MFX

MAP Audio MFX is suited to producers and sound designers who want detailed control over effect routing and modulation in a single plugin. Its combination of four configurable cells, 33 effects per cell, feedback routing, LFOs, followers, and automation makes it adaptable to conventional mixing tasks as well as more experimental sound design.

System Requirements

A compatible digital audio workstation or audio plugin host is required.
A supported plugin format and compatible operating system are required.
