Description
Want to use this strategy to improve your own speaking? If yes, This course can help you do that. It's designed to help you become a fluent English speaker using my strategy. The course is called English Fluency Training. It consists of four modules (levels):Module 1 — BasicModule 2 — IntermediateModule 3 — AdvancedModule 4 — FluentLet's talk about each module in detail.Module 1 — Master the BasicsThis module is designed for students who.Have trouble forming sentences.Have difficulty forming questions with proper sentence structure.Don't have confidence because of their poor pronunciation. If you have these problems, here's how this module can help you:Benefit #1: Improve your ability to form complex sentencesA common problem English students have is that they have trouble forming sentences. This makes them hesitate to speak English. If you have this problem, you need a lot of practice, and this module will give you the practice you need. Here's how: in some of the lessons, the teacher will ask you a lot of questions in English. Your job is to answer every question out loud. Sometimes, you'll have to provide short and easy answers. Other times, you'll have to provide long and complex answers. After you complete these lessons, you'll be able to speak English with good sentence structure. Here are some examples of the actual sentences you'll be practicing:"He's not thinking about buying a new television.""If they get the chores done today, she'll take them to Disneyland.""When they were little, they thought Santa Claus was real.""Max knows that drinking alcohol is bad for his health.""He wasn't sad or angry that his mom forgot his birthday.""They can't set up their meeting on Tuesday because Scott won't be in the office."Benefit #2: Improve your ability to ask questionsAsking questions is an important skill. In a real conversation, you can't just talk non-stop; you also have to ask questions sometimes.Unfortunately, most English students cannot put words in the right order to form a question. Why? Because their teachers don't teach them this skill. (I'm not surprised. This skill is very difficult to teach.)But don't worry. In Module 1, you'll get to practice asking all kinds of questions in English. Here's how: in some of the lessons, the teacher will make a lot of statements in English. Your job is to turn each statement into a question.Benefit #3: Improve your pronunciation (so that you have more confidence when you speak English)Imagine that you're talking to a foreigner in English. You're trying to tell him something. But your pronunciation is very hard to understand. So he responds with a confused look on his face.Having good pronunciation is important. If your pronunciation isn't clear enough, others won't understand you. They will find it difficult to have a conversation with you.The good news is, the lessons in Module 1 can improve your pronunciation. Here's how to use the lessons to improve your pronunciation:Use each lesson several times until you can say every sentence with correct sentence structure. Then move on to the next lesson. After you complete all the lessons, go back to the first lesson. Practice with all the lessons again. But this time, use the lessons to improve your pronunciation. Here's how: when the teacher gives feedback, pause the lesson and repeat after the teacher. Do your best to imitate the teacher's pronunciation. It's quite difficult to change your pronunciation, so repeat each lesson several times. After 2 – 3 months, come back to Module 1 and practice imitating the teacher again. This is important. Like I said, changing the way you pronounce words is difficult. That's why you need a lot of repetition.I've personally used the lessons in Module 1 to improve my own pronunciation. I'm Thai. And I used to speak English with a strong Thai accent. (You can hear it in my YouTube videos, which were recorded in 2014.). So, I used the lessons to reduce that accent. So, even if you're not a beginner, you can still benefit from this module.Module 1 has 20 lessons. These lessons have different "levels of difficulty."the first few lessons are easy. But as you move on to later lessons, the practice will get more difficult. I designed the course this way because I wanted to keep pushing your spoken English to the next level.Of course, the lessons in Module 2 will be even more difficult. So, let's talk about Module 2.Module 2 — Intermediate TrainingThis module is for people who.Have trouble talking about events that happened in the past. Can't express their thoughts and ideas clearly. Can't say anything long or substantial in English. (Can only say a few basic sentences at a time.)If you have these problems, here's how this module can help you:Benefit #1: Improve your ability to tell storiesMany students have trouble talking about events that happened in the past (using the Past tense). So, in some of the lessons, the teacher will tell you a story (an event that happened in the past). Then, he will ask you a lot of questions about that story. Your job is to answer every question out loud. That's not all. At the end of the lesson, you will have to tell the whole story yourself from beginning to end. (You won't get it right the first time. That's OK. You're supposed to use these lessons several times.)Benefit #2: Improve your ability to express ideas clearlySome students complained to me that they can't express their thoughts clearly.Oftentimes, they want to tell people what they're thinking. But they can't put it into words. So, instead of saying what they want to say, they usually say nothing (or say something very basic). That's why, in some of the lessons, you will get to practice expressing ideas. Here's how it works: the teacher will read you a passage (a piece of writing). Then, he will ask you questions about that passage. And at the end of the lesson, you'll have to express the ideas from the passage in your own words.Benefit #3: Improve your ability to give long speechesCan you talk non-stop in English for 5 – 10 minutes without reading a script? If you can't, don't worry. This module will train you to do that. Here's how: in some of the lessons, you will get to practice giving a long speech (to an imaginary person). For example:In one of these lessons, you have to convince your co-worker to stop complaining about his salary. In another lesson, you have to make your sister believe that a busy person like her can become a writer. In another lesson, you have to encourage your friend to keep working on his business.Don't worry if this sounds difficult. The teacher will guide you along the way so that you know what to say.Want to know what it's like to practice with a lesson in Module 2 ? Download a short sample here. (This is just a snippet, not a complete lesson.)How many lessons are in Module 2?There are 21 lessons in Module 2. The lessons are grouped into five units. Each unit revolves around a specific topic. Here's the structure of this module:Unit 1 – Complaining VS. Taking ActionLesson 0 – Getting Started (This is not an actual lesson. It's just a short tutorial.)Lesson 1 – Telling a StoryLesson 2 – Expressing IdeasLesson 3 – Giving a Long SpeechUnit 2 – Limiting BeliefsLesson 0 – Getting Started (This is not an actual lesson.)Lesson 1 – Telling a StoryLesson 2 – Expressing IdeasLesson 3 – Explaining a ProcessLesson 4 – Giving a Long SpeechUnit 3 – Success Leaves CluesLesson 1 – Telling a StoryLesson 2 – Expressing IdeasLesson 3 – Talking About PeopleLesson 4 – Giving a Long SpeechUnit 4 – PersistenceLesson 1 – Telling a Story (Part 1)Lesson 2 – Telling a Story (Part 2)Lesson 3 – Expressing IdeasLesson 4 – Talking About a PersonLesson 5 – Giving a Long SpeechUnit 5 – Choices (5 Lessons)Lesson 1 – Telling a Story (Part 1)Lesson 2 – Telling a Story (Part 2)Lesson 3 – Expressing IdeasLesson 4 – Talking About a PersonLesson 5 – Giving a Long SpeechModule 3 — Advanced TrainingAs the name suggests, this module will help you speak advanced English. It will train you to speak in a way that 95% of English students can NEVER do.In this module, we add a new method to our training. It's called the Imitation technique—the same technique that I used to become fluent. Here's the structure of this module:Unit 1 – Introducing YourselfLesson 1 – Questions and AnswersLesson 2 – ImitationUnit 2 – Introducing Yourself (Part 2)Lesson 1 – Questions and AnswersLesson 2 – ImitationUnit 3 – What Are Your Strengths?Lesson 1 – Questions and AnswersLesson 2 – ImitationUnit 4 – What Are Your Strengths? (Part 2)Lesson 1 – Questions and AnswersLesson 2 – ImitationUnit 5 – What Is Your Biggest Weakness?Lesson 1 – Questions and AnswersLesson 2 – ImitationUnit 6 – How Did You Overcome Your Weakness?Lesson 1 – Questions and AnswersLesson 2 – ImitationUnit 7 – Where Do You See Yourself in Five Years?Lesson 1 – Questions and AnswersLesson 2 – ImitationUnit 8 – Where Do You See Yourself in Five Years? (Part 2)Lesson 1 – Questions and AnswersLesson 2 – ImitationUnit 9 – Talking about Your EducationLesson 1 – Questions and AnswersLesson 2 – ImitationUnit 10 – Talking about Your Education (Part 2)Lesson 1 – Questions and AnswersLesson 2 – ImitationAs you can see, there are 10 units. Each unit has two lessons. The first lesson in each unit is a Q&A lesson. The second lesson is an Imitation lesson where you can practice "imitating" (copying) a native speaker. The two lessons in each unit are connected. They build on top of each other. When you practice with the Q&A lesson, you'll learn some useful words and phrases, and those words and phrases will be used again in the Imitation lesson. But why do we need two different methods together? The reason is because these two methods improve different aspects of your speaking. They have different purposes. For example, the Q&A method is very good at building vocabulary. In a Q&A lesson, if I want to teach you a new word, all I have to do is include that word in a lot of questions. To answer those question, you have to use that word in a sentence several times. This is a strength of Q&A. It's a good method for teaching vocabulary. But if I want to make you sound more natural, then an Imitation lesson is more suitable for the job. When you imitate a native, you have to pay attention to the rhythm and pronunciation and try to sound exactly like that person. So it's a great way to sound more like a native. So these two methods have different strengths. There are things that Q&A does better than Imitation. And there are things that Imitation does better than Q&A. But when you combine them together, you get the best results. This training combination is the best way to improve your spoken English. I've reviewed several courses made by popular English teachers. Nothing even comes close to this.Module 4 — Becoming Fluent in EnglishThe course would not be complete without this last module. Here's why this module is so important. To become fluent in English, you need to have a LARGE speaking vocabulary.Even if you can speak English with perfect grammar, you won't be able to communicate well if you can't use a lot of English words in speech. So, if you want to become fluent, you need to expand your speaking vocabulary. This module will help you do that. How to Expand Speaking VocabularyIn this module, I teach you another way to practice the Imitation technique. Instead of practicing with my lessons, you'll learn how to practice the technique with English-language videos or podcasts that can be found online.Imitation is the main reason I can speak English well, despite the fact that I've never been to an English-speaking country. And I truly believe it's the best language-learning technique in the world. Here's why:There's no limit to how much you can improve. As long as you keep using the technique, your spoken English will keep getting better.Other than your speaking vocabulary, using this technique will also improve your grammar and pronunciation. You don't need a speaking partner! All you need is some English material, which is readily available online (YouTube, podcasts, etc.).Learning English by imitating native speakers ensures that you will speak English naturally like a native. This module consists of two lessons.Lesson 1 — the Parroting TechniqueAlthough Imitation is very effective, it can be difficult for beginners. So, in the first lesson of Module 3, I teach another technique called Parroting, which is a simplified version of Imitation. It may not be as effective as Imitation, but it's much easier to do. Once you're comfortable with this technique, you can move on to using Imitation.Lesson 2 — the Imitation TechniqueThe last and most important lesson. This lesson contains two things:Thing #1: Video tutorial on ImitationIn this video tutorial, you'll learn how to practice Imitation by yourself with an English video you can find on YouTube. I show you all the steps required and let you see me perform the technique on screen.Thing #2: The Guide to Using Imitation eBookThis used to be a short eBook. But thanks to all the questions and feedback from students who purchased the old editions of the course, the eBook has been updated to include new information. It now has 5,900 words of useful tips and tricks. In this eBook, you'll learn:Tips for how to practice Imitation effectively. How to use Imitation to improve your explanation skills. The criteria you can use to find good English material to practice with. And much, much more! After completing this module, you'll know exactly how to expand your speaking vocabulary and become a fluent English speaker. With this knowledge, you won't need to spend thousands of dollars on expensive classes or private English tutors. You'll know how to improve your speaking on your own, at home, using English material you have access to like movies, TV series, podcasts, etc.
