Learn to sketch & paint simple watercolor figures in a playful way.
Who this course is for
Drawing, especiallypainting figures can be intimidating, so I thought it would be a good idea to break this topic down to the very basic level, andbuild up your figure painting skills step by step. I'll be drawing and painting slowly, so you can follow along easily.
This course can also be a good startif you always wanted to add people to your urban sketches, but somehow you were afraid to do so. I'm about to show you, painting figures is not that difficult and it can also be so much fun.
What You Will Learn
You will learn about thecarrot method which is about how tobuild up watercolor figures from simple shapes. We will start with verysimple static poses, thenwe add expressive gestures to our figures. You will also learnhow to illustrate walking figures. We will make our figures more like 3-dimensional by adding cast shadows to them. In the second part of the session we are going togive personality to our characters.
What tools you need?
The tools you need for this session are nothing really special. I'll be using
- two sheets of inexpensive 120 gsm A4-size or US letter size sketchbook paper
- a graphite pencil for making the sketches
- three different colors of watercolor paints – you can use whatever color you like
- a size-8 round brush – you can use the size you're comfortable with
- and some common accessories like a water container, and some paper towels.
