In this course, International Performance coach, Gary Kirby will take you step by step through the key components of gymnastics, teaching you the skills you need to deliver athletics to new beginners and high performers.Gary has worked at the highest level for 20 years, working with British Gymnastics to coach gymnasts across several Olympic Games. He now delivers gymnastics workshops in schools around the world with Sports Basics Ltd.The course will begin by introducing the basic gymnastics skills of travelling, rolling, balance, and jumping, before learning to link and apply these skills to develop sequences on floor.We'll also look at how to develop jumping and landing and vaulting skills to perform a range of simple but effective vaulting techniques.We've added in some of Gary's lesson plans for you to learn some of the exercises and progressions he uses to teach some of the skills throughout the course, and we'll provide you with some teaching resources to support your gymnasts and students to improve their understanding.By the end of the course, you should understand teach gymnastics to students at any stage of their development and feel confident to teach vaulting to students of all abilities.See you in the gym!
