Fluid Flow in Pipes, Pumps, Pipe Fitting

What you'll learn
Understand the concepts of fluid flow in pipes and learn the basic variables incorporated into the calculations.
Be familiar with laminar and turbulent flow, pressure drop, friction losses, and fundamental fluid flow equations in pipes.
Learn the principles about transmission of fluids, joining of pipelines, pipeline supports and pipeline expansion.
Be familiar with pump classifications, pumps characteristic curves, and pump selection.
Requirements
Minimum requirements for this course require completion of high school diploma that includes English, Math and Physics, or equivalent.
Description
1. Participant in this course will learn a broad knowledge of technical systems and operating parameters needed to pump, monitor, and control the flow in pipeline systems in addition to details about fittings, multiple connections of pipes and pumps and much more.2. Knowledge regarding working on the basic calculations associated with flow in pipes, identifying the difference between various losses pertinent to friction and fittings is clearly illustrated.3. Understand the joining of pipes and their support by various ways such as anchor support and 'rolling' type devices.3. Examples regarding calculations of flow in pipes connected in series and parallel are demonstrated.4. Basic characteristics of pumps and their components are shown and explained.5. Study the operation of multiple pumps and how their connections in series or in parallel are affecting the total system head or flowrate.5. Participant will understand pipe fittings components which tie together pipelines, valves, and other parts of piping system. Also, information about fittings and their connections like screwed, welded, soldered, or flanged varieties are demonstrated.6. Information about the various types of flanges used in pipeline connections are illustrated and how these flanges are classified according to their type or face.7. Understand the type of valves and factors generally considered in their selection.
