Learn Autodesk Fusion 3D Modeling: Solid & Surface Modeling, Assemblies, Snap-Fits and Practical CAD Workflows
What you'll learn
Understand how 3D space, sketches, profiles, and extrusion work so you can reason about geometry before you start modeling.
Develop a clear modeling plan and choose the right approach instead of building parts through trial and error.
Use Fusion 360's Solid modeling features while understanding the logic, purpose, and best use case behind each tool.
Apply practical CAD techniques, modeling tricks, and feature combinations to build realistic parts from real-world case scenarios.
Use Surface modeling tools to create geometry that is difficult or inefficient to build with traditional solid modeling alone.
Create and manage assemblies in Fusion 360, including practical techniques for linear and twisted snap-fit designs.
Requirements
No previous Fusion 360, CAD, or 3D modeling experience is required. The course builds the necessary concepts from the ground up.
A computer capable of running Autodesk Fusion and access to Fusion 360 so you can follow the demonstrations and practice.
A mouse is recommended, along with a willingness to practice the models and workflows demonstrated throughout the course.
Description
Learn Fusion 360 from the ground up while developing the modeling mindset and strategy needed to approach 3D geometry with confidence.
This course is not built around simply memorizing buttons and commands. The goal is to help you understand how 3D models are created, why different modeling features exist, and how to choose the right approach before you start building.
We begin with the fundamentals of 3D space, sketches, profiles, directions, and extrusion. From there, you will explore important solid-modeling tools and concepts including Revolve, Sweep, Loft, Mirror, Pattern, Deboss, and other practical Fusion 360 features.
Throughout the course, you will develop a structured modeling workflow
Analyze the geometry → create a modeling plan → choose the right features → build the model.
You will also work through practical modeling examples designed to help you move beyond simply following tutorials and begin making your own modeling decisions.
The course then introduces surface modeling, where you will learn how surfaces can be used to create and control more complex geometry. You will apply these concepts through practical surface-modeling case studies.
Finally, you will learn how components and assemblies work in Fusion 360 and explore mechanical relationships and practical snap-fit design techniques, including both linear and twisted snap fits.
I'm Nadir, an automation engineer and mechanical designer with experience teaching Fusion 360 and SolidWorks through live one-on-one CAD sessions.
By the end of the course, you will have a strong Fusion 360 foundation and, more importantly, a clearer way of thinking when approaching unfamiliar 3D modeling challenges.
Who this course is for
Complete beginners who want to learn Fusion 360 while developing a strong understanding of how 3D modeling actually works.
Students, makers, aspiring mechanical designers, and product designers who want practical CAD modeling skills.
Fusion 360 users who know some commands but still struggle to analyze a part, choose the right features, or decide where to start.
Learners who want to think like a 3D modeler: analyze geometry, create a modeling plan, and select the right workflow before building.
