Description
This course will provide you with an overview of the CO2 Storage and Capture modeling options available in the GEM simulator for aquifers. Starting with simple structural trapping and progressing to mineralization, a 2D model will be developed and additional CCS modeling tools will be gradually put on. The impact of each new method will be thoroughly examined. The components' characteristics, as well as the aqueous and mineral reactions, will be entered using the PVT program WinProp. The geochemical modeling characteristics of GEM as well as its geomechanical modeling capabilities will be covered in this course.
You will have a chance to practice exercise by yourself.
This course will be guided you step by step for all kinds of CO2 trapping mechanisms.
You don't need any skill or knowledge to learn this course
You will learn to build a 2D model for structural trapping, residual trapping, mineralization, caprock leakage.
You will learn the geomechanics, geochemistry theory in this course
I will help to have a mindset in this kind of modeling process.
At each exercise, I provide the final dataset for you to hand on by yourself.
You can use this course as your documents to learn and develop the idea by yourself.
This course is suitable for everyone who has a passion for CO2 sequestration and subsurface problems
