Description
Electrical Engineering deals with the generation, transmission & distribution of electrical power. There are two types of circuits in electrical analysis. They are AC and DC. This course mainly deals with DC circuit analysis.
A DC circuit essentially consists of a source of DC power and the conductors are used to carry current and the load. Various sections deal with the basics of Electrical Engineering through its electrical parameters. Subsequently, this will lead to the development of Kirchhoff's laws and theorems associated with electrical circuits. Mesh and nodal analysis are two basic important techniques used in finding solutions to a network. The suitability of mesh or nodal analysis depends mainly on the number of voltage sources or current sources. If a network has a large no of voltage sources, mesh analysis is mainly used for circuit solving. On the other hand, if the network has more current sources; nodal analysis may find it more useful. Otherwise, we have to convert current sources into equivalent voltage sources.
In many practical applications, it is always not necessary to analyze the complete circuit. The use of various theorems provides a simple, equivalent circuit that can be substituted for the original network. There are questions where they are asked to find out the current, voltage, or power dissipated in only one resistor. In that case, certain theorems can be worked out to find solutions easily.
