PTC launched the latest version of its flagship CAD software,Creo 12.4.4.0. The Creo 12 brings "hundreds of powerful enhancements to its design, simulation, and manufacturing capabilities," according to PTC.
Creo 12 enhances the user interface, including adding feature presets that allow users to set their own defaults; composite structure design, including the ability to generate a solid geometry from composite layers; electrical design, including the ability to work on a harness as an assembly; model-based definition (MBD), including enhanced file export to STEP AP242; and more.

New Configuration Option to Define the Default Annotation Plane for Annotations
Description:You can now use the new configuration option default_annotation_plane to specify the default annotation plane on which newly created annotations will be created. The value for the option is a text field, enabling any user-defined annotation plane to be set as the default.
Benefits:Improved control over the default annotation plane for annotations, reducing repetitive actions, saving time, and minimizing mouse clicks during annotation creation.
Intelligent Fastener > Additional Washer and Nut for IFX
Additional Washer and Nut for IFX
Description:Starting with Creo Parametric 12.4.4.0, Creo Intelligent Fastener introduces two new options:
- Adding a second nut.
- Adding a third washer.
These options support applications that require a combination of using three washers and HER (High Electrical Resistance) nut, particularly electrical connections. Using two nuts is a common method of preventing a nut from loosening.
These options are disabled by default and must be enabled in the Creo Intelligent Fastener options.

- You can now add a third washer on each side in Creo Intelligent Fastener screws. This is beneficial in electrical connections.
