The Dietaholic's Diet The non-diet diet book for serial dieters
The Dietaholic's Diet: The non-diet diet book for serial dieters by Thomas Payne
English | August 30, 2016 | ISBN: N/A | ASIN: B00N6REV6S | 55 pages | EPUB | 0.13 Mb
This book is aimed at all the 'dietaholics' out there, the people with a real and committed desire to lose weight, and who have tried, or who are trying, a succession of different diets to try to achieve their goal. These people are serial dieters, or dietaholics, in short.

The problem they face is that, no matter what culinary regime they follow, and how strict they are with what they eat, whichever diet they try will only ever provide a short-term fix, and the moment they stop eating in that specific way, the weight they've lost so painfully will return. And there's a very simple reason why this is what happens.
It might come as a shock to many people, but diets don't work. Or rather, just to clarify that somewhat sweeping statement, diets do work, but only as long as you stick to them religiously. The reality is that sooner or later everybody, no matter how committed and dedicated they may be to losing weight, will simply refuse to eat even one more lettuce leaf, buy a large cream cake and basically fall off the wagon. And it doesn't matter which diet you follow, which new fad you believe will finally do the trick. In the end, all of the 'miracle diets' will fail you, and the reason has nothing to do with willpower but everything to do with biology.
Almost all of the independent research shows that, far from helping you to lose weight, the actual result of following most diets is that at the end of it the people who do so will weigh more than they did before the diet started. Dieting, in short, makes you fat.
This book explains the reason for this, why your body actually conspires against you and does its best to maintain your weight while the diet continues, and then adds weight after it has ended. The author shows exactly why diets don't work in the long term, and what you can do about it. He tells you why 'diet foods' don't help you lose weight, and in fact are bad for you. More importantly, he reveals the one foodstuff that you are consuming every single day - without even knowing it - and precisely why this needs to be eliminated from what you eat, not only because doing so will help you lose weight, but also because your overall health will benefit.
He suggests a way of eating that is virtually guaranteed to help you lose weight, but without following any particular diet. That's right: how to lose weight without dieting and without making any significant sacrifices to your way of life. Because despite the title, this isn't a diet book. It contains no meal lists or methods of calorie counting or anything like that. With one single exception, there are no 'banned foods', so you can eat more or less what you like, when you like, and still lose weight.
In short, this slim volume is less of a diet book than a lifestyle book. But there's no mumbo-jumbo, no bizarre philosophy, no mantras. What the author suggests is simple, based on common sense and easy to implement, and will have almost no impact upon the way you live, except to virtually guarantee that not only will you lose weight painlessly and without feeling hungry, but you'll also be a whole lot healthier as a result.
